Linked genes
Which genes are linked?
- bl and D
In literature I've found different recombination frequencies:
Author |
Rec. freq. |
Beckmann (1966)
Beckmann (1989) |
16%* |
Dr. Duncker, cited by Vins (1983) |
12%** |
(*) Beckmann uses 16% as recombination frequency in his calculations, but he says (translation from Dutch): "This chance is called the crossing-over percentage, and with the factors b+ and D+ this is about 14%"
(**) Vins mentions the results (107 young) of different pairings used to calculate the recombination frequency.
Unfortunatly he made a mistake in the calculations and talks about a recombination frequency of 13%.
Furthermore, a sample size of 107 is statistically to small to make an accurate estimate.
- The genes on the sex chromosomes:
- op: opaline
- cin: cinnamon
- ino: ino, texas clearbody
- sl: slate
This would be the order of the genes and the recombination frequencies: op-30%-ino-3%-cin-7%-sl
