Remember that a gene was just a DNA sequence. A chromosome is just a long strand of DNA. On this long strand lie the genes at specific locations called loci (enkelvoud: locus).

A chromosome is not an uninterrupted sequence of genes. Strangly enough the vast majority of DNA on chromosomes is non coding DNA.
